Jake Sinclair

Co-Founder


Jake is a San Francisco-based Pediatrician and is the co-founder of Ujamaa – Africa. He has been working to develop innovative models to care for high risk youth for the past 20 years. He is a passionate advocate for young victims of domestic and sexual violence and has developed several youth empowerment programs in the USA and Africa.

JANE WAGITHI

BOARD MEMBER


A bonifide teacher employed by the Teachers Service Commission. Has been a teacher for the past 20 years of which 12 years she has served as a Senior Teacher and headed the Guidance and Counselling Department. She brings on board a wealth of experience in curriculum development and implementation.

Ada Mwangola is currently the Vision 2030 Assistant Director for the Social and Political Pillars. She brings a wealth of over 10 years’ experience working in both the government and non- governmental sectors in Kenya.

PRASEDE KIHORO

A passionate and dedicated Senior teacher with over 30 years of experience, heads the guidance and counselling department and is a Youth Counsellor at Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi. She also serves in the capacity of Commissioner at Catholic Justice and Peace Commission. She is passionate about empowering young adults through mentorship and brings on board a wealth of experience in Life Skill training and Sexual Reproductive Health.

BENJAMIN O MBOYA

the Executive Director of Ujamaa Africa. He leads Ujamaa's school-based program which teaches empowerment defense to girls and gender transformation programs to boys in Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, and South Sudan. Over the past 6 years, he has co-authored several research papers in collaboration with JHU, Stanford, and the United States International University (USIU) studying the effectiveness of this unique dual-gender approach for preventing violence against women and girls.

JUSTICE LOUIS ONGUTO

(HON)BOARD MEMBER


Justice Onguto was promoted to the High Court of Kenya two years ago and has written several important Kenyan national policy briefs since that time. He chairs several important national oversight committees including social welfare and judiciary review. Justice Onguto has long been a passionate advocate for the underserved in Kenyan society and a champion of justice and empowerment for vulnerable women and children.
